    Charging station

    Application description

    A charging station refers to a charging device that provides energy replenishment for electric vehicles. Its function is similar to a gas dispenser in a gas station, and it can be fixed on the ground or wall, installed in public buildings (such as public buildings, shopping malls, public parking lots, etc.) and residential parking lots or charging stations. It can charge various models of electric vehicles according to different voltage levels.

    Charging stations can be divided into DC charging stations, AC charging stations, and AC/DC integrated charging stations according to their charging methods.

    DC charging station: The basic components of a DC charging station include a power unit, a control unit, a metering unit, a charging interface, a power supply interface, and a human-machine interaction interface. The power unit refers to the DC charging module, and the control unit refers to the charging pile controller. In addition to the core components mentioned above, a DC charging station also has other important small components such as sheet metal parts, fuses, relays, and lightning protection devices. As a system integration product, the DC charging pile itself, in addition to the two components of "DC charging module" and "charging pile controller" forming the technical core, structural design is also one of the key points in the reliability design of the entire pile.

    AC charging station: An AC charging station is a power supply device that is fixedly installed outside an electric vehicle and connected to the power grid, providing AC power to the on-board charger of the electric vehicle (i.e. the charger fixedly installed on the electric vehicle). The AC charging station only provides power output and does not have charging function. It needs to be connected to a car charger to charge the electric vehicle, which is equivalent to only playing a role in controlling the power supply.
    Its characteristics are: low charging power, long charging time, but low cost of charging equipment.

    AC/DC charging station: The principle of AC/DC integrated charging station is to convert the AC power in the power grid into DC power through power electronic components such as transformers, rectifiers, and filters, and then output it to the battery pack of electric vehicles through the charging controller and charging gun. The AC/DC integrated charging station can automatically switch between AC charging or DC charging modes based on the vehicle's charging interface and the voltage of the battery pack, achieving intelligent charging management.
